I am on my last couple days of studying before the BIG exam on Tuesday/Wednesday. Even though I don't have a lot of time to put together a Fashion Friday post, I wanted to at least stop by and share with you some great articles that help with dressing professionally.
How to Wear Flats to Work - via Stylized Existence
Tips for dressing professionally in the heat:
Dressing for Success is Challenging in Hot, Steamy Weather - via Best Friends at the Bar
Working: When Dressing Cool for the Summer Isn't Cool - via The Washington Post
Dressing Professionally for Summer - via Corporette
My favorite article:
8 Items you Must Have in Your Desk to Fix Outfit Mishaps - via The Grindstone (so helpful!)
As always, you can adapt the tips to fit with your particular workplace or profession - not all of them will be as strict as the legal profession is, and not all offices have the same rules! A good rule of thumb: watch what your bosses wear on casual Friday, for a work picnic, informal meeting, networking dinner and mimic those rules. If he/she is relaxed with an open blazer and tailored denim, you can probably dress similarly.
Things that are always off-limits (not matter how hot you get): flip flops, shorts, t-shirts, ballcaps, unclean clothes, and too revealing clothes. Other than that, learn what works for your office and it should be a piece of cake! If you have any questions, email me or leave a comment!
