We met in 2005, working for the same company. He was a great guy
and we became friends quickly. Being complete opposites, I
never expected it to amount to much more than that. A few months later he
left for boot camp and we vowed to stay in touch. In 2008, we reconnected while he was home in Minnesota for
Christmas. We attended a New Years Eve party and we started dating shortly
after that.
He deployed my first year of law school, prompting me to start this blog. We spent the next two years traveling
back and forth between Minnesota and Ft. Bliss to see each other. On January 29, 2011 we
were married in a small, intimate ceremony in Minnesota and he headed back
to Texas. We spent that summer together in Texas and I returned to Minnesota in
the fall to finish law school. Early 2012, we
PCS’d to Ft.
Carson, Colorado to start a new set of adventures. In 2013, we expanded our family with the addition of a fur-baby and found out we were expecting our first child of the human variety.

We make it work, every day, with a lot of trust and even more laughter. I'm in
this for the long-haul, with everything I've got. I couldn't turn back now,
even if I wanted to. He’s my best friend, my safe haven and my future – and together
we are finding the balance between following our dreams and supporting each
other!
I’m wine and pasta, he’s bacon and beer. I’m high heels and
diamonds, he’s camo and combat boots. I’m traffic and city lights and he’s
tractors and dirt roads. I'm books and briefcases, he's rifles and ammo cans. Yet, we, together, are exactly right!
