My Pitch

So, I have to say that I am a little disappointed in the turn out of the Cyber Garage Sale. I got great feedback when I first pitched the idea and I thought implementing the sale would go so well.

And, it has not.

Don't get me wrong: I fully appreciate those of you who have purchased and participated

(Like Elizabeth at City Lights, Camo Nights who can't seem to get the link-up to work for her. Seriously, go check out her stuff RIGHT NOW - she has some awesome shoes and purses on sale!)

I guess I just expected more.

Perhaps it is because it came on the heels of Jessica's announcement, which shook the milspouse blogging community up a bit.
Perhaps I didn't advertise it well enough.

Or perhaps, people were just being polite when they thought it was a good idea.

Whatever the reason may be, it OK.

I'm glad I did it.
It was fun to put together and I am making money.

I wanted it to bring more women together, but I am happy with those I did get to know better. All-in-all, it served its purpose and perhaps this next week will be even better!

Now, I am going to pitch a few other things going around in the bloggy-world.

Cyber Garage Sale: Day Three

Today I am helping my mother and sister out in selling an old keyboard.

It's a Casio CTK558 with a 100+ song bank.

It comes with a stand, all the necessary electrical cords and a dozen or so piano books.

Obviously, there will be difficulties with shipping this item, since it is large and heavy, so if there is someone nearby (Minnesota) that is ideal.

Otherwise, we can perhaps work something out with shipping to bring the cost down.

Free Time

This was my last week teaching at the high school.

We had a big pizza party on Thursday and submitted grades Friday.

It was pretty nice to have a relaxing Friday and my calendar is opening up going forward.

Granted, I am heading into finals in a few weeks and my free time will be filled with packing and preparing to move to Texas.
Even still, the little extra time I have is going to be glorious.

And the taste I got of it this week was definitely motivating.

I feel refreshed and ready to get through the rest of the semester and on to my wonderful summer with my husband.

I'm giddy just thinking about it.

We are going to move forward with the Cyber-Garage-Sale.

The dates are going to be April 11 - April 24.

That gives everyone the weekend to search for their stuff, take photos and set up some posts.
As far as prices, items and details - I am leaving that open.

You can post a few items each day or just one long post.

You can sell only one great item or 50.

You can have people pay through Paypal or through any method you choose.

That does mean that you will be responsible for getting paid legitimately and making sure you get the items to the purchaser.

I'm feelin' a change...

My hair currently looks like this:

Supposedly I'm blonde. But frankly, I don't really know what this color is anymore.

It feels more like worn out, drab sink of dishwater. Pretty, huh?

And I'm totally over it.

I haven't had a haircut in a year. That's a LONG time.

And it's showing signs of breakage and split ends. It's definitely time for a change...

I've thought I should do something fun with the cut or color.

Nothing too crazy, but something fun.

After all, this is my first and only summer where I will be a woman of leisure (sort of) and not have to worry about any professional standards for my hair.

That leaves me with a few ideas:

Platinum

Yellow-y blonde, with bangs

(It's unfortunate that Hilary Duff was the only pic I found of this color/style. Not a fan.)

Layered look, without bangs and simple highlights

Any dye-ing I do should be natural-looking. As you may remember from my first 50 things about me...I've dyed my hair once. It was a disaster and I told myself I would never do it again.

So I am weary about doing something drastic, like peroxide blonde. Therefore, I'm trying to look at ways of making the change without causing a catastrophic event. And perhaps leaving room to "fix" it.

And I'm definitely feeling the idea of cutting some fun bangs into my hair. It's been a long, long time since I've had any sort of bangs and it might be kind of fun!
